Melissa is a co-founder of the multi-platform lifestyle brand The Moms. Prior to The Moms, she was a founding partner in Moms & The City, where she hosted and produced a television show within the NBC family, wrote for the NY Daily News online, BabyCenter.com and created, hosted, and produced celebrity events. Melissa and her partner also serve as spokes”moms” for many national household brands and a have appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox News and many other national programs.
Gerstein has spent the past 10 years working in broadcast television with top networks including, ABC, CBS, MNSBC, CNBC and CNN. She has produced for The Anderson Cooper Show and most recently The Big Idea where she had a Big Idea; The Moms! She has booked and interviewed high profile people including: President Bush, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Julianne Moore and Steven Spielberg both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
Gerstein moved to Toronto for a year to help launch and produce Canadian Idol. She toured the country auditioning competitors and selecting talent for the show. From its debut, Canadian Idol has been the number one rated show in Canadian history.
Melissa has given talks and sat on panels including the Super Mompreneur Conference, Shestreams and Ladies Who Launch. She has served as a judge and critiqued business owners looking to elevate their business profiles.
Gerstein attended New York University where she graduated with honors from The Gallatin School. She also interned at MTV Networks, worked for Miramax Films and assisted a Tony Award winning Broadway Producer. Melissa is a former ballerina and choreographer. She has performed in such productions as The Nutcracker and The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Gerstein resides in New York City and embraces her own “real life sit com” she is living everyday with her husband Anthony and her three children Elias, Lily and Sydney Rose.
