Moms On A Mission….
Are you a mom in need because of Hurricane Sandy? We want to help – mom to mom. If you have a need, email us and we will try to find another mom to match you up with to help. Are you or your kids in need of clothes? Do you need toys for your kids? Is your stroller gone?
We think there’s no better way to help then to match moms up so everyone can do their little part to help each other — mom to mom, family to family. If you’re a mom that wants to help — let us know!
Please understand that we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to find a suitable match, volunteer or donation, but we will try!

Queens College has a make-shift family center for families from The Rockaways. I know they were looking for someone to entertain the kids during the day. (recreation, shows etc)

I live in Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island and know first hand the destruction of Sandy having lived through it. My family was fortunate enough to live through the storm with only power outages and some property damage, nothing more. there are those who have lost everything and I would like to help. I have toys, clothing for children (I have a 6 year old boy and a 2 year old girl). I also have extra furniture and kitchen appliances to give, all in great condition. I can give gift cards to clothing stores and food. Our family would like to help! Please reach out to me with a family in need to sponsor. I live in Huntington and have an 8 month old son. We still have no power, but that is the only inconvenience we have suffered. I know that my biggest concern when the storm him (other than our safety) was getting my deep freezer full of breast milk that I worked so hard of months of pumping to make, to a safe place where I could keep it cold! We have a friend who never lost power and who was gracious enough to let us use both of her freezers to store milk. Long story short, I would love to help connect with other moms to coordinate feeding supplies for those who have lost it. Nursing is such an emotional and precious time with your baby I would hate to see other moms not be able to continue or to not be able to provide breast milk for their babies because of Sandy. Pumping in the dark with the battery back up to my pump and storing milk in a cooler bag on my deck is not something that I will soon forget. I would love to help coordinate donations and distribution.

Love the idea. We actually have a FB group of moms from my town which has over 900 members, started before the hurricane. It has been so helpful with sharing information, supporting one another, finding needed supplies for people and helping each other and others–especially during the hurricane.
