Summer Fun with Your Kids
What do you like to do with your kids in the summer? We always try to think of new ways to do fun things with our kids. And what we always tend to think about is some of our favorite things from our childhoods. So put the iPads away, hide their iTouches, and shut the TV’s off, unless you’re using them for educational purposes. For example, a fun activity could be to watch videos for kids to learn singing skills on YouTube. This is fun for kids, and you could even get the whole family to take part! Although you could always think about those days when you would play kickball in your driveway, run to 7-Eleven for a Slurpee, chase lightening bugs and have family movie night. Now bring those same activities into our generation. Here’s our top Mom list for the summer:
• Family Movie night – pick a movie from another generation and watch all together.
• SlurpFREE Day – Make a Slurpee run – but do it on May 23rd – it’s SlurpFREE Day which means a free 7.11 ounce Slurpee for you and your little ones from 11am-7pm. And for those of you looking to watch your calories, they have the new Slurpee Lite Fanta Sugar-Free Mango with no sugar and only 20 calories per 8 oz serving.
• Be tourists in our your own town – pick a local place you have never explored and do a new one each month.
• Do something you have never done as a parent – for your kids and with your kids. If you don’t cook – cook a meal with your kids. If you don’t normally play games with them – pick a game. If you don’t normally play sports with them – try it.
• Playing sports with your children is a great way to ensure they get some exercise! Don’t worry though, the sport doesn’t have to be extremely active. You could suggest bowling! That’s a fun activity for everyone. If you go to your local bowling alley, it’s likely they’ll have all the equipment you’ll need. However, there’s nothing stopping you from reading reviews, like https://skilledbowlers.com/bowling-balls/urethane-bowling-balls/ for example, and purchasing your own ball. Having your own ball could motivate you to go to the bowling alley more often, furthering your family time and keeping your kids entertained.
• Ask your kids if there is something new they want to do or try….it can be so simple…sometimes we don’t have to plan so hard but just have to ask…
• Write a book or song together with your kids – see how creative you can all be together.
• Camp in your back yard.
• Make a garden and plant with your kids. Nothing like homegrown fruits and veggies and flowers. But make sure to keep the rest of the garden looking clean and fresh using the likes of https://www.lawncare.net/service-areas/california/ or somewhere similar, so it’s ready for you and the kids to play in as well as plant some fruit and veggies.
• Family bike rides to new places.
• Try to picnic in a new spot or park.
• Make a water slide in your backyard. Alternatively, you can look into this water slide hire for some fantastic summer fun.
• Make a lemonade stand and have the proceeds go to your kids charity of choice.
We were paid by 7 Eleven for the post and accepted because of our true childhood memories of 7 Eleven.
What's Your Fav Fashion?
By Denise Albert
If it’s fun and flowy, it’s fashionable!
That’s my fashionable motto. Colors and patters and pair them with chunky jewels and you can easily transform yourself from work to play and back out again.
Here are two of my favorites this season.
Printed dress: Camilla
Red dress: Three dots
Jewels: Bauble Bar
Rockin Fashion Looks
What do you wear when your hosting an event with a famous Disney band and you’re going to dance around the room with your kids? Or what if you just want to look stylish and hip while spending an afternoon with your family?
Put on a bright pair of jeans and pair it with a simple tee…or try a fun dress that isn’t typically a look you would choose.
For us, it was easy. We paired our favorite jeans with simple but stylish tops from the Gap. We added cool yet comfy shoes and we rocked out with The Imagination Movers.
Denise and Melissa: AG Jeans paired with a Gap Tee and Jacket and Stuart Weitzman shoes. Jewelry by Bauble Bar.
Don't Call Me A Single Mom
BY DENISE ALBERT
I’ll be chronicling my new life as I go through the divorce process and I hope you’ll follow my journey. If you’re looking for me to bash my ex, that won’t happen. Like many couples around the world, married life wasn’t meant to be for us. It’s not like the fairytales that you read about in stories. It is hard. And we couldn’t make it work. We’re not placing blame anywhere, it’s just one of those things. So as we go through things like Divorce Mediation and other legalities that will come up, it is important to remain respectful.
My ex-husband and I are still great friends, and that is the way we want it to stay. We have kids, after all. I just feel sorry for the people who have had to divorce in the worst circumstances. I had a friend once who divorced her husband because he had an addiction. However, she had to first consult professionals like JMR Solicitors to learn whether addiction can be a reason for divorce. To be honest, lots of people have addictions, but some people are able to deal with them better than others. From gambling to taking drugs, and even porn, there are many things that someone could be addicted to. In this circumstance, it was pornography. Whilst there is plenty of information out there regarding restoring marriage after porn addiction, my friend just couldn’t get past it. No one judges her for this, as it is completely her decision, and she had to put her family first.
I would like to think that if I ever found myself in that situation that I’d want to try and make it work. I would seek out all the help I could get to see if we could overcome this problem. But addiction is devastating. Regardless of whether you are addicted to something yourself, or you live with someone who is, it can have a detrimental effect on everyone involved. They’re both happy now. And some people are happier apart. Like me and my ex. And I don’t want to spend this next chapter of my life speaking against him. Nonetheless, I understand that people are living together and are unhappy. As a result, their children have to grow up in a toxic environment. I just want to tell those people not to do this to your child; instead, let them live their lives without being exposed to everything you and your partner are going through. It is preferable to find Divorce Lawyers Corona CA, or wherever you live, as soon as possible. Don’t try to exaggerate something that isn’t supposed to be.
Anyway, here, you will find a woman and mom excited for a new life, if you find it interesting to read about the roller coaster of emotions and all of the things that come with starting over… then join me on The Huffington Post.

The MOMS partner with Good Housekeeping
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GOOD HO– USEKEEPING ADVERTISING PARTNERS WITH ‘THE MOMS,’
A MULTI-PLATFORM LIFESTYLE BRAND ALL ABOUT MOTHERHOOD
Partnership Kicks off with Back to School Project in August.
NEW YORK, NY (May 7, 2012) – Good Housekeeping advertising has signed a first-of-its-kind deal with Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein of THE MOMS, it was announced today by Pat Haegele, SVP/Group Publisher. The MOMS are a multi-platform lifestyle brand and event company founded by Albert and Gerstein, award-winning producers who share their honest opinions on TheMoms.com, covering topics related to motherhood and parenting, as well as candid interviews with all kinds of moms: celebrities, entrepreneurs and moms on a mission to help others. THE MOMS will serve as brand ambassadors to Good Housekeeping advertising partners in special sections in the magazine, at events, via original sponsored video on goodhouseekping.com and TheMoms.com, through social and out of house media, satellite media tours, and more. It looks like they’ve been taking note of these law firm marketing strategies and are set to seriously improve their online presence.
This could be a significant step for the lifestyle brand The Moms in being able to help them spread the word of what they do, as well as being able to aid as an advertising role for Good Housekeeping. To help with the marketing of businesses, there tends to be an emphasis on the importance of paid adverts when it comes to getting their message and brand across. In the long run, this could help them to be more successful in their chosen industry and could increase the number of people who are now aware of both of these brands. Along with this, companies need to conduct market research prior to advertising, on customer preferences and study their own product attribute levels according to the client base/target audience.
The partnership kicks off with a special “Back to School with THE MOMS” advertising section in the August issue of Good Housekeeping, for which The MOMS will create synergistic content on behalf of sponsors that highlights their personal, practical and sometimes irreverent points of view. THE MOMS will be featured in additional advertorial sections through May,2013.
Beyond in-magazine special sections, Good Housekeeping and its marketing partners will be integrated into THE MOMS events in New York and Los Angeles in a variety of ways, including product sampling to their highly targeted audience of moms and mom bloggers. So many mom bloggers will start their own businesses as they progress online, so this marketing link can help them with gaining that necessary visibility as they use other resources including a google my business service from websites like gmbgorilla.com so they can expand into the space.
“Denise and Melissa are modern, relatable moms who experience the same daily joys and challenges of parenting as our readers,” said Haegele. “Their refreshingly honest points-of-view are as entertaining as they are informative, and we’re thrilled to be working with them.”
“As entrepreneurs and television hosts, we are very excited to reach so many new, hard-working women and we relish this opportunity to connect with the impressive readership of Good Housekeeping,” said Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein of The MOMS.

"The Kids" with Clint Black
By Denise Albert
What do you do when your kids want to do what you do? To me, it’s a no-brainer…let them try. Last week, we hosted a Mamarazzi event with Clint Black to promote the DVD release of Flicka, Country Pride at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and my son wanted to interview Clint. I thought it would be one question, but it just kept going. And when I tried to wrap it up….Clint wanted more. Is there another journalist in the house???
